Does BiggiFi take it’s power from the HDMI-port / how is it powered ?
BiggiFi is powered via a Micro B USB port. A US 2-prong charger (110V – 240V input) is provided. (The setup is the same as most smartphone chargers)
So how does it differ from Chromecast?
In short, we designed our dongle to use the native phone-and-tablet controls where other devices have either a specific physical remote or some sort of different control scheme. Your phone screen is mapped to the TV. You basically treat your TV as a tablet with the phone acting as the touch screen. This means we can support many, many apps using our approach where Chromecast and other Android MiniPCs can only offer a handful.
So how does it differ from Plair 2?
As stated above, we provide a native control scheme. Plair 2 has a custom scheme that makes it difficult to use certain apps and games.
Is BiggiFi a screen-mirroring technology?
Absolutely not. Screen mirroring requires significant amounts of bandwidth and over WiFi, the latency would make anything except video-playback difficult and cumbersome.
Does BiggiFi support Bluetooth?
While BiggiFi doesn’t come with Bluetooth, it does have a USB peripheral port. It should be possible to connect a USB Bluetooth adapter to BiggiFi through the USB port.
Will you provide Android updates?
Yes, We will provide updates.
Would BiggiFi support third party Android apps like XBMC?
I can’t connect my BiggiFi device to my WiFi network through the BiggiFi App. Is there a way around this?
In the rare event that you encounter issues when setting up BiggiFi using the app, you can set up the device using a USB mouse. Connect your USB mouse to the port in the back of the device and navigate to the settings app. From there, you can connect your device to the appropriate WiFi network.
My device isn’t listed on the BiggiFi app even though I’ve set it up to my WiFi network. What should I do?
Normally, the BiggiFi app will search out and connect your phone automatically to a device. If the app doesn’t list your device, you may need to manually input the IP address.
- In the settings app (you may need a USB mouse to navigate the menus), you will notice a list of WiFi networks on the right.
- Click on the network you are connected to and you can get the BiggiFi device’s local IP address.
- Click the insert button in the app. It should be next to the rescan button.
- Type in the BiggiFi device’s local IP address. Your phone/tablet should now connect to BiggiFi at this point.
Note: Your phone/tablet and BiggiFi should be on the same WiFi network.
Do you cover customs duty and other similar fees for international customers?
